The Layers of Perspective formed another key aspect of A Music of Change, involving the recording of the individual voices that made up three specific fugues – selected from the Art of Fugue and the Musical Offering. These were then re-assembled and blended over a Master Recording, so that the listener could hear them with different voices emphasized. Thus, each of three fugues here is presented in multiple versions: first, in its Master Version with the voices all appropriately balanced; then with each voice of the fugue successively highlighted – enabling the listener to appreciate the fugue from different perspectives. Part One focuses on the first contrapunctus from the Art of Fugue.
